Long regarded as an iconic destination in the heart of the nation's capital, Hotel Washington reclaims the name that graced the property when it first opened its storied doors in 1917 as part of a property-wide rebrand.

Most recently operating as a W Hotel, the Hotel Washington legacy continues to evolve, and on the heels of recent enhancements to public spaces and a new lobby restaurant planned to debut this summer, the hotel is a reimagined destination and sophisticated meeting place for those in the know.

"It's been an honor to be at the helm of such a transformative moment in Hotel Washington's story," said Stephane Vogel, general manager of Hotel Washington. "The property has been widely recognized as an icon in the hospitality landscape of Washington, D.C. since opening its doors over 100 years ago. We are excited to reinvigorate the life of the hotel and reclaim its status as a stopping point for world leaders, dignitaries, entrepreneurs, and elevated thinkers. Our name celebrates our city, owns our location and puts a stake in the ground as the place to be. While there are many hotels in Washington, there is only one Hotel Washington."

While honoring its historic roots, the hotel continues to cement itself as a contemporary modern luxury locale with a playful take on D.C.'s political history and new guest experiences. Both aspects are reflected in Hotel Washington's new aesthetic, which pairs luxe, silver foil stamped logos and a touch of hand-lettering with warm neutrals. Abstract line art, inspired by the sgraffito on the building's façade, delights guests with an unexpected wink and a nod.

Timeless and approachable, Hotel Washington's F&B programming offers uncomplicated dining experiences that still feel elevated in their setting and service. The crown jewel is VUE Rooftop, an artfully designed destination that brings the outside world in. Offering unparalleled views of the White House and Washington Monument, VUE pairs the effervescent energy of D.C.'s skyline with seasonal cocktails, elegant plates, and a stylish ambiance like no other. Chef de Cuisine Roberto Campos brings his Latin flair to VUE serving up inventive dishes and bold flavors for dinner and weekend brunch. For an al fresco option, The Patio offers classic American fare in a charming outdoor setting.

Additionally, this summer Hotel Washington will introduce a new restaurant, Fireclay. With an experience grounded by an open-hearth concept, many dishes will incorporate elements of char, ash or fire. Fireclay will delight guests with menus that change with the seasons and showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients served family-style to create a sense of togetherness and warmth.

The revival of Hotel Washington and its new branding sparked a creative collaboration with Brooklyn-based artist Amit Greenberg (@thisisamit) that infuses a sense of wit into the interior design through a series of artistic expressions – lobby décor, wall paper, and neon signs. Savvy travelers can enjoy residential-style rooms, touting cherry blossom-adorned headboards and floor-to-ceiling murals in premier suites. The lobby, with its signature arches and mirrored ceiling paying homage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, has been refreshed with well-appointed seating vignettes perfect for enjoying a cozy evening sipping cocktail and workspaces that allow visitors an elegant setting for an impromptu meeting.

In tune with its sophisticated new look, Hotel Washington offers guests seamless access to the best art and culture in DC, while curating unique cultural experiences on-property as well. New elevated programming includes intimate SoFar Sounds concerts, hands-on pressed flower workshops, classic spirit-paired dinners, unexpected magic shows and more.
