The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), along with representatives from member companies, participated in a public hearing hosted by the General Services Administration’s (GSA) new interagency working group to examine if the methodology for determining per diem rate boundary lines should be changed.

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) on Friday issued the following statement on the federal per diem rates for FY2017 released by the General Services Administration (GSA). The government body also announced the formation of a new inter-agency working group that will review the issue of per diem boundaries.

AH&LA Applauds Advancement of Per Diem Amendment to Improve Pentagon Travel Policy

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) applauded the passage of an AH&LA-backed amendment out of the House Armed Services Committee that would repeal the per diem rate cuts instituted by the Department of Defense for uniform and civilian employees on long-term travel, or temporary duty (TDY), in December 2014. The amendment would restore the per diem rates to the reasonable levels they were at before the cuts.
