Officials of Strand Hospitality today announced the grand opening of the 98-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Coastal Carolina Conway in Conway, South Carolina. The hotel was developed by Southern Ventures and built by Dargan Construction Company out of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
“The Fairfield Inn & Suites Coastal Carolina Conway enjoys a fantastic location, convenient to several businesses and directly across the street from Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College,” said Jay Keller, COO, Strand Hospitality. “As the first select-service Marriott-branded hotel in the area, the hotel was designed to meet the evolving needs and demands of today’s business and leisure travelers.”
Located at 2061 E Highway 501, the hotel’s new décor package pays homage to the brand’s origins at the Fairfield Farm. Specific elements include a farmhouse table in the lobby, photography from the Fairfield Farm serving as artwork in the lobby and guest rooms, natural materials and unique textures featured throughout and a history wall in every property showcasing the brand’s roots.
“We are confident that the introduction of the Fairfield Inn & Suites brand will be a boon to Conway, providing both jobs and additional revenue to the community,” said John Pharr, president, Strand Hospitality. “We would like to thank the City of Conway staff, council members and Mayor Bellamy. They have been a pleasure to work with on this project.”
The new guestroom design is impactful, unique and addresses the functional needs of the Fairfield guest for a seamless experience. The room was designed with the modern traveler’s needs to stay productive on the road in mind without overcomplicating the guestroom. Each room features a modern lounge chair, serving as both functional and comfortable in which to either work or relax. The artwork in the room takes center stage with the window treatment acting as a focal point, displaying photography taken at the Fairfield Farm. The material is sheer and allows light to pass through the photography, warming up the room and creating a comfortable environment. The guestrooms also feature an ergonomic workstation, a comfortable couch, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave.
“Strand Hospitality has a sterling reputation as a leading hotel operator, and I am thankful for the opportunity to launch a new brand in this thriving market,” said Melissa Zimmerman, general manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites Coastal Carolina Conway. “Our hotel will provide the highest level of customer service to our guests, and our team looks forward to being an active business partner in the Conway community.”
Additional hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, valet laundry service and complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as meeting facilities complete with audio visual equipment. A complimentary hot breakfast, featuring oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles and other healthy items, such as fruit, yogurt, and whole grain cereals and breads, also is available.
