Mandarin Oriental has announced the appointment of Robert Lowe as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid.
Robert will retain his position as Area Vice President Operations, in which he will now oversee operations at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, Mandarin Oriental, Canouan and the opening of Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino.
Robert was previously General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, New York where he has been instrumental in driving business results and evolving service and product quality at the hotel, and Area Vice President, Operations overseeing Mandarin Oriental, Boston and Mandarin Oriental, Santiago, as well as The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Fifth Avenue New York, and Beverly Hills.
Robert is a veteran hotelier with over 30 years of industry experience. His career with the Group began in 1999 as Director of Sales and Marketing at Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco before he was appointed Hotel Manager in 2005. Robert held several Hotel Manager roles within the company in Washington and New York before he was appointed appointed General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta and subsequently General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Miami in 2016.
In 2018, his role was expanded to that of Area Vice President Operations overseeing Mandarin Oriental, Santiago and the development of Mandarin Oriental, Boca Raton.

Originally from Argentina, Robert attained his bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant management at Slough Polytechnic in England.
