Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An welcomes Michael Casey as Resort Manager. Arriving from Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, he brings to his new role more than 16 years of experience with Four Seasons and a finely honed passion for guest-focused operational excellence.
Having previously served on a special task force at The Nam Hai, Michael is now delighted to return as a full-time team member: “This is a truly special property that brings people together through a rare combination of cultural authenticity, world-class luxury and heartfelt service. We aim to create exceptional experiences that keep our guests coming back year after year.”
Indeed, each moment at this oceanfront sanctuary resonates with the spirit of Hoi An, from regionally-inspired dining and locally-crafted amenities to a series of daily Vietnamese rituals and ceremonies. As Michael notes, “We want to immerse our guests in the many wonders of Central Vietnam.”
With roots in both Ireland and the US, Michael grew up in a variety of settings across three continents, spending his formative years in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the US. While in Egypt, the family would often brunch at Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence, sparking his interest in the world of hospitality: “I experienced Four Seasons service first-hand as a guest and soon realised I wanted to be part of the magic that is Four Seasons!”
After graduating from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership (University of Houston), Michael started his career at Four Seasons Hotel Houston, where he joined as a pool attendant and quickly worked his way up to a managerial position. Thereafter, he held leadership roles at Regent Singapore (formerly a Four Seasons Hotel) and Four Seasons Hotel Singapore. Most recently, he served as Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi in Malaysia, where he oversaw a marked improvement in guest engagement over his tenure.
A long-time believer in the brand’s Golden Rule – to treat others as you wish to be treated – Michael now brings his trademark down-to-earth demeanour to The Nam Hai. A born hotelier, his keen eye for detail is an invaluable asset in personalizing offerings for individual guests.
When he is not at work, Michael loves to travel with his wife, always on the lookout for new flavours and unique dining experiences. Here in Hoi An, he is excited to dive deeper into the region’s distinctive cuisine and locally grown ingredients. He is also a fitness enthusiast, with a passion for running and water sports.
