Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announced plans to expand the presence of Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand through Conrad Singapore Orchard. Jointly owned by Pontiac Land Group and Kajima Development, and managed by Hilton, Conrad Singapore Orchard will be the second Conrad Hotels & Resorts property in Singapore, joining Conrad Centennial Singapore.
A rebrand of Regent Singapore, Conrad Singapore Orchard is set to open in two phases. The hotel’s meeting spaces and its ten restaurants and bars, including Manhattan, Basilico and Summer Palace, are poised to welcome guests from 1 Jan. 2023. Following extensive room refurbishments, the hotel is scheduled to open fully in Q1 2024, bringing new levels of sophisticated, modern luxury to Singapore’s famed Orchard Road.
“Singapore is one of the world’s leading travel destinations, and a priority market for Hilton. We are excited to build on our shared success with Pontiac Land Group and Kajima Development to expand our award-winning Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand here,” said Clarence Tan, senior vice president, development, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “As the fastest growing hospitality company in Asia Pacific, Hilton is focused on delivering best-in-class owner returns, and we are confident of doing so in a market that has been exceptionally resilient in the face of a pandemic and continues to outperform in business and leisure travel alike.”
Centrally located in the heart of the city, Conrad Singapore Orchard will be the perfect venue for both business and leisure travelers. Steps from Singapore’s famed Orchard Road shopping district and home to many luxury retailers, top-end restaurants and department stores, Conrad Singapore Orchard will feature 440 spacious guest rooms starting from 36 square meters. The hotel will also offer a fitness centre and over 1,600 square meters of beautiful event spaces. Conrad Singapore Orchard is conveniently accessible to Singapore’s Changi International Airport, located 22 kilometers or a 30-minute drive away.
“Following more than two decades of strong partnership through Conrad Centennial Singapore, we are delighted to expand our relationship with Hilton through the new Conrad Singapore Orchard. The hotel has always been a hallmark of luxury hospitality and we are confident the hotel’s distinct dining concepts, refreshed design aesthetics and world-class service will be further elevated through the Conrad brand and its globally recognized luxury standards,” said David Tsang, chief executive officer, Pontiac Land Group.
The announcement of Conrad Singapore Orchard comes on the back of two recent signings that will see the Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand debut in the major cities of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Nagoya, Japan. Conrad Kuala Lumpur, slated to open next year, will mark the brand’s debut in Malaysia, while Conrad Nagoya – the city’s first – will open in 2026.
Conrad Singapore Orchard will join Hilton’s expanding portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts in sought-after destinations in Asia Pacific, where Hilton currently operates more than 30 properties, with several planned for the pipeline, across its luxury brands - Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts and LXR Hotels & Resorts.
“The launch of the second Conrad in Singapore signifies an exciting new portfolio expansion in one of the world’s leading cities in the Asia Pacific region," said Dino Michael, senior vice president and global category head, luxury brands, Hilton. “Following its renovation, the reimagined property will unveil another elevated, hallmark design and seamless connection between impactful experiences and purposeful service to inspire even the most discerning luxury traveler.”
