Sevens Group Australia to Create USD27 Million State Redevelopment Project
Australia-based real estate development firm, Sevens Group Australia ("SGH"), announced a visionary USD27 million redevelopment in the Nedlands Baths site on the Swan River of Perth, Australia. The redevelopment proposal includes a unique over-the-water destination granted by the Tourism Project of State Significance status under the West Australia Government's Tourism Attractions Case Management framework. The five-star hospitality and entertainment development will feature a café, bar, fine dining restaurant, luxury boutique hotel, function centre and marina. The development expects to hold strong appeal for international hospitality brands and hotel operators with open river views and quality architecture, art, and landscaping. SGH also plans to invite the local community to contribute to honouring the site's rich history by sharing their memories of the Nedlands landmark, which was established as a tourist destination in the early 1900s.
AirAsia Philippines to Launch Two New Domestic Routes and Relaunch Three International Routes
Philippines-based AirAsia ("PA") announced that they will launch two new domestic routes in April and May as well as relaunching three international routes in April. The resumption of flights is hoped to spur the recovery process in both labour and tourism segments. The two new domestic routes to Dumaguete and Roxas will be launched in April and May respectively. The relaunch of international routes to Bali, Indonesia; Bangkok, Thailand; and Incheon, South Korea will be in April. The Philippines has also reopened their boarders to fully vaccinated foreign tourists on 10 February after two years of closure.
ATPI Group has acquired Australia-based The Travel Authority
UK-based Advanced Travel Partners UK Ltd ("ATPI") acquires Australia-based The Travel Authority Pty. Ltd. ("TTA") to expand its Australia and New Zealand footprint. The acquisition will see that ATPI develops the largest-ever office presence in the commercial capital of Sydney. TTA which was founded in 2004 has four divisions: corporate travel, holidays and cruises, conferences and events, and resource travel. ATPI believes that the acquisition of TTA cements their expansion in this region. The addition of TTA will bring additional capacity to service more clients across various industries.
Greater Bay Airlines Granted Five Year License to Operate 104 Regional Routes
Hong Kong-based Greater Bay Airlines ("GBA") had been given a five-year permit from the Air Transport Licensing Authority to operate commercial flights to 104 routes with immediate effect. The routes cover destinations in Asia-Pacific such as mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea. GBA will be the third airlines joining the commercial aviation market in Hong Kong, after the city's flag carrier Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Airlines. The government believes GBA could further strengthen the air transport connectivity between Hong Kong, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and other parts of the world.
