Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) presents Adam Beloney, CHAE as the 2021 recipient of the Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE®) of the Year Award. The CHAE of the Year award honors the individual that scored the highest on the CHAE certification exam within a given year. He will be recognized during the HFTP Annual Convention Keynote Session, "Crazy Busy Nuts: Getting Off The Conveyor Belt of Life" with Victoria Labalme on Wednesday, September 29 at 8:30 a.m. US CDT. The HFTP 2021 Annual Convention is taking place September 27-30, 2021 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
Beloney has been an active member of HFTP since 2011 and currently serves as chapter president of the Greater Nashville Chapter. A 2003 graduate of Texas A&M University, Beloney has held numerous roles in hotel operations and finance at properties in Austin, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee. He has spent the last nine years with Loews Hotels & Co. within their shared services operation, serving first as director of billing services and currently as director of procure to pay operations. When asked why the CHAE designation was important for him to achieve, Beloney shared the following message: "Having transitioned from a property-based controller role into a shared services environment, I felt it was important to keep my skills sharp in all areas of hospitality accounting and finance. Earning my CHAE certification has allowed me to demonstrate my proficiency in areas of this profession that I don’t currently encounter in my day-to-day role."
The CHAE professional designation is an industry designation showing competency in the area of accounting, and is acknowledged throughout the hospitality industry as it elevates the professionalism of both the recipient and the industry. More than 1,500 hospitality accountants, from several countries, have earned the CHAE designation through HFTP since the certification program began in 1981. The CHAE exam, which features a more global finance focus, is now available in an all-in-one online platform powered by Ascend. HFTP also administers the examination and awards the Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP®).
