Stefan Marczinkowski and Christopher Neuner to take future charge of the hotels in Darmstadt and Nuremberg Thomas Nixdorf will head up both hotels in Hanover
Following a stint of more than three years as General Manager of the IntercityHotel Nuremberg, Stefan Marczinkowski will officially take up the reins at the IntercityHotel Darmstadt with effect from 1 March 2021 after having already led the hotel on an interim basis since September 2020. Christopher Neuner will replace Mr. Marczinkowski as Director of the IntercityHotel Nuremberg. Thomas Nixdorf, General Manager of the IntercityHotel Hanover Hauptbahnhof Ost, has also assumed an additional responsibility at the helm of the IntercityHotel Hanover. Lisa Edelmann, who has managed the hotel since 2019 and joined IntercityHotel GmbH in 2012, is now leaving the company at her own request. This means that Mr. Nixdorf will be returning to run a hotel at which he was the opening Director as long ago as 2009. He subsequently continued his successful management reign until 2013.
“We are very pleased that three experienced and long-serving employees of IntercityHotel GmbH such as Mr. Marczinkowski, Mr. Neuner and Mr. Nixdorf will now be assuming responsibility for the locations of Darmstadt, Nuremberg and Hanover respectively,” stated Christian Kaschner, Managing Director of IntercityHotel GmbH. “They offer an enormous amount of expertise and will be instrumental in instigating a successful restart once the present travel restrictions come to an end. Stefan Marczinkowski celebrated 20 years of service with Deutsche Hospitality in January 2021. He joined the company as Deputy Head of Reception at the IntercityHotel Wuppertal in 2001. He then spent many years at the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport before moving to the IntercityHotel Magdeburg in 2013 to become General Manager. He has been in charge of the IntercityHotel Nuremberg since 2017.
Christopher Neuner’s most recent position saw him exercise a dual function as Head of Reception and Deputy General Manager at the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd, which boasts 414 rooms and is the largest hotel operated by the brand. Mr. Neuner originally trained as a hotel specialist at the Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurt-Langen, where his career at Deutsche Hospitality began in 2003.
Thomas Nixdorf guided the IntercityHotel Hanover Hauptbahnhof Ost through its opening phase from October 2019 and went on to oversee a successful opening in February 2020. Previous to this, Mr. Nixdorf was General Manager of the IntercityHotel Hamburg Dammtor-Messe. In 2012, he won an IntercityHotel “General Manager of the Year” Award.
